Exploring Earth’s Minerals, Rocks & Volcanoes
Museo di Mineralogia, Petrografia e Vulcanologia is a scientific museum of the University of Catania dedicated to geological collections. Founded from the 1781 Natural History Cabinet of Giuseppe Gioeni, the museum preserves collections of minerals, Sicilian rocks, volcanic samples from Mount Etna and the Aeolian Islands, gems, amber, and historical scientific instruments. It is part of the university’s Earth Sciences collections.
