To Preserve and Showcase the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Aragon Region from Prehistory to the 20th Century
The Ceramics Section of the Museum of Zaragoza is located in the Casa de Albarracín in the José Antonio Labordeta Park. Its construction dates from 1955, based on an idea by Antonio Beltrán, and it is the work of the architect Alejandro Allánegui.
It consists of three floors plus a semi-basement. The main façade draws inspiration from Bronchales and Calomarde; the door from Albarracín; the high railings from Bronchales; and the ground floor railings from Orihuela del Tremedal.
Above the entrance door is a coat of arms with the quarters of Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel, as well as the arms of the Pardo Santayana family, the Civil Governor who promoted the construction of both houses, the one in Albarracín and the one in the Pyrenees. A simple shield commemorates the date of its first inauguration: 1957.
