About us
Classic Spanish Dining Done Right.
Far from the hustle and bustle of the center of Granada, there are quiet corners where you can enjoy good seafood cuisine. They are chosen places whose flavor spreads by word of mouth. One of these places is in the popular neighborhood of La Chana. In addition to tapas bars, the neighborhood hides some of the best fish and seafood in the city at Mesón Bar Las Perlas.
Just five tables, sober and familiar treatment. As Manuel, its owner, says: “This is designed to be calm”. The prices are reasonable in relation to the high quality. You can eat the same or even better fish than downtown, but Las Perlas' concept and location make prices more affordable. Manuel has created a quiet and pleasant place, where you can eat very well and pay just enough for what you taste. Furthermore, parking is easy in the area.
Located on the Old Malaga Highway, next to the Las Perlas urbanization, this small inn was born in 2001 with the enthusiasm of its owner: “I want to work enjoying”. This is what he said to himself one day and this is how he has fulfilled it until today. The Mesón Bar Las Perlas is for Manuel, his work, his enjoyment and his religion. The best option to ask is to approach the exhibitor to contemplate the genre and let themselves be advised by it.
When you are in Las Perlas you are enveloped by an air of another time. Maybe it's the effect of that light music from the 60s and 70s that always plays, perhaps the tender calm of your cozy living room or the flavor of a cuisine from another era.
Their style and cuisine must be understood from a deep respect for tradition, adapted to today's tastes and customs. Much of the blame for the latter lies with the head chef, Cristina Ortiz, Manuel's romantic partner: “You can't innovate too much in fried mullet. The only important thing is that they are daily and are very well fried in virgin olive oil. And period. There is no more”
