Born and raised in Quebec City, sisters Myriam and Romy Belzile-Maguire founded Maguire believing that footwear could be better designed and more accessible without compromising quality or integrity. With $15,000 to their name, the sisters launched Maguire in 2017 with a single product and a clear vision: to build the brand they themselves had been searching for. A graduate of London’s prestigious Cordwainer College, Myriam brought deep technical expertise, shaped by years of experience designing footwear for international brands such as Benetton and Aldo. Her work took her across continents, refining a design sensibility informed by craftsmanship, culture, and real life. Romy, a communications graduate with a background working with non-profits, brings a human-centred approach, and global outlook to the brand.
