Where heritage meets contemporary creativity
Our founder, the late C.P. Lim, left his hometown of Swatow, China, for Singapore at the age of 12 in pursuit of his Nanyang dreams. As a young man, he sold eggs on the streets and later apprenticed under a master woodcarver at the former C.K. Tang, where he mastered the art of teak and camphor wood chest carvings and developed a deep appreciation for fine furniture, Chinese antiques, and Asian arts and crafts. Since 1959, he co-founded and established several businesses across Singapore, setting up workshops at Kim Keat Road, Cheng San Road, Jalan Kayu, and Changi Village. In 1970, Lim's Arts & Crafts opened at Holland Road Shopping Centre and has since become a household name among Singaporeans for its eclectic and ethnic lifestyle products. For over 60 years, Lim's has cultivated a loyal following of customers who treasure its collection of collectibles. Now in its third generation, the C.P. Lim legacy continues with the new LIMS.
