Created in 1911 by Joseph Vrin, the Librairie philosophique J. Vrin specialises in philosophy. It doubles as a publishing house, which is aimed at an academic audience (students, professors, researchers) but also at informed humanists or those curious to open up to philosophical questioning. The Vrin Bookstore is the only bookstore in the world exclusively dedicated to philosophy.
