A true visionary, Francis Cresci created La Pizza Cresci in Nice in 1956 and La Pizza Cresci in Cannes in 1960, synonymous with a new restaurant concept in France. For the first time, customers could sit around a table set like in a traditional restaurant to eat a single dish: pizza. Indeed, while pizza was first developed in southern Italy, it was in Nice, on Rue Masséna, that the idea of a real restaurant specializing in pizzas took shape.
