IEMS started in 1981 when a dream came true for a then 31-year-old girl who spent her spare time sewing clothes for loved ones. Ing-Marie developed her hobby to start a fabric boutique on a cross street to Stockholmsgatan in Gothenburg. Fabrics for curtains and clothes were sold there. Over the course of 18 years, Ing-Marie developed her concept for what a fabric boutique can offer.
