The story of Hotel Tonic began in 1979 with the dream of the Trieste brothers, originally from the Madonie mountains. Driven by great ambition and a strong passion for tourism, they decided to create a small family-run business in the beating heart of the Sicilian capital.
The hotel is housed in an ancient noble palace dating back to the early 1900s, and still retains some of its original features, including the splendid Art Nouveau staircase and some cement tile floors.
A historic hotel in Palermo, it began as a two-star establishment with just a few rooms and a small reception area. Management was quickly taken over by one of the brothers and his son, who is now the hotel's sole owner.
The small, six-room hotel slowly began to expand, also adding three more floors. The construction of new rooms and a breakfast room allowed it to raise its standards and services, earning it a third star. However, achieving this goal did not end the desire for growth. Over the years, numerous renovations were carried out to make the hotel increasingly comfortable and hospitable. The Agorà Room was created, a multipurpose space that serves as a TV room, reading room, and meeting room. The breakfast room was completely renovated, giving it a new, more welcoming and elegant feel. Deluxe rooms with exclusive round beds were created, and older rooms were refreshed with new furnishings and bathrooms. The renovation and maintenance work never stops, and there are many projects to complete. Passion and ambition abound, and the hotel looks ahead to new goals...
