Cold Spot Feeds Inc. was started on a whim in 1986 by Connie Core Dubay during a late-night conversation regarding the need for an affordable dog food geared toward the long-distance sled dog mushers in the area. The original Cold Spot Feeds store was located in a single bedroom of Connie's Fairbanks home, then expanded to her garage, and eventually a true brick-and-mortar store next to her home
