A small piece of cheese on every roll
Kato was already celebrated in the 17th-century children's song: " I went to the Butter Market with Katootje ." She was immortalized by Gerrit Berckheyde in his famous painting of the Groote Markt with the St. Bavo Church in Haarlem from 1696 (bottom right). Even then, just like us now, she stood for the tastiest sandwiches, prepared with care and filled with love. In other words: Every sandwich a Katootje , for yourself of course, or to treat your colleagues.
