The beautiful grounds of the Michelfeld Arena were still missing one thing: a meeting place for cozy get-togethers and good food.
So the idea matured to build a SPECIAL venue, with the hope that this concept could allow a traditional inn to survive. But what should this special inn look like?
In a convivial atmosphere, Paul Spörr and Romed Weber discussed how one could build a Canadian log cabin, and that was exactly the spark of inspiration!
They soon began the initial planning and execution. The main focus was on using local timber and commissioning a local company to carry out the work.
With Bernhard Freund from Gries am Brenner, one of the most talented log house builders, and his company Holzbau Freund, an excellent partner was found. Together with him and his employees, the two entrepreneurs selected every single spruce log for the log house in the area around Götzens.
The entire construction period lasted approximately two years, but the result is worth it: It is craftsmanship at its highest level of perfection.
The Blockhaus restaurant was now born in the middle of the grounds of the Michelfeldarena riding stables.
