Well now, that really is a splendid question. Come in a bit closer to the coffee machine. Listen to it purr, hiss and bubble away like a cheerful companion warming up for a good story, and I shall tell you how it all began for Adam. He set off on what was supposed to be a grand tour of Europe. A fine adventure. Trains, maps, bold plans. But he did not travel very far at all. Not because he lost his way, but because he kept wandering into the most marvellous little coffee shops. At every corner there seemed to be another treasure. A hand painted sign. A crooked doorway. A tiny cafe squeezed between two ancient buildings, calling him in before he even realised he had stopped walking. “Just one quick cappuccino,” he would say. And in he went, settling into some wonderfully mismatched chair, surrounded by the gentle clatter of cups and the warm scent of freshly ground beans. Time drifted. Trains left without him. The grand tour quietly turned into a slow and rather delightful shuffle from one cafe to the next. And somewhere between Budapest and Barcelona, between the first sip of the morning and the last indulgent flat white of the afternoon, Adam realised something very simple. The love of coffee is not only about the drink. It is about the calm, the character, the welcome, the people and the pleasure of stopping for a moment while the world ambles by. And that, dear friends, is where it all began! Upon meeting Jodie, a fellow coffee devotee with a passion for fine dining, everything fell into place. A coffee shop had always been part of the dream and it began with one simple aim to seek out the finest speciality coffee, teas and hot chocolates and prepare them with perfect care every single time. Of course, we quicly followed with finding the finest fresh baked itallian sweet treats and artisan cakes to compliment your choice of beverage.
